painting

A painting I finished this summer for a client. Each dog represents a specific person that the client is friends with.

other stuff

Here is some older work I did this past semester.

This is a narrative piece about squirrels at a tea party.

Here is a set of three pictograms, done in a tesselation.

This next piece is a site specific work that I did actually last december and is still up at a bus stop in St. Louis.

the triumph

"The Triumph"; ink, micron pens. I tried hatching and patterns, both of which require patience and a steady resolve, neither of which I can muster right now. So, still a work in progress.

fox + man

For my anatomy class, we had a project where we had to fuse human and animal anatomy. I chose to blend the human torso, particularly the shoulder girdle, with the anatomy of a fox. I'm still working on it a little, but it's slow-going. I've always liked working with gouache, but it's hard to keep the look that I want.
I'll eventually scan the final, this is the nearly finished piece. You might notice the weird corners, I'm in the process of singing the edges to effect the paper to make it look old. It's still a work in progress. :)

the lipstick gun

The lipstick gun is a sculpture I did last semester for a found object studio class. I used a plastic toy gun and coated it with acrylic paint and a clear coating. I sawed off the end of a tube of lipstick with a band-saw and glued it on the end. I won't lie, I used the lipstick on the end once and it was awesome.

The next piece is also from the found objects studio:

The text is the first line of an e.e. cummings poem "if you can't eat, you got to"
